Tests

Here are some tests for bipolar, depression, mania, and other traits.
We have started with two tests: one for major depression and one for mania. Other tests will be added soon.
We hope you find these helpful, but they are no substitute for professional care.
Please do not try to diagnose yourself or anyone else using these tests.
The only person who can make a diagnosis of mental illness is a qualified health professional such as a psychologist, psychiatrist or medical doctor.

Major Depression Test.
This is a short quiz based on NIMH guidelines about the diagnostic criteria of “Major depression.” Not all depression is major depression. If you have mild or moderate depression, you might not fit the definition of “major depression” according to this depression quiz, but you should still seek treatment anyway. People with mild and moderate episodes need help too.

Mania Test.
This is a short quiz to determine if you are experiencing a “Manic Episode.” If you are hypomanic, or if you are in a mixed state, you might not fit the definition of “manic” according to this mania quiz, but you should still seek treatment anyway. Also, if you are manic, you may not be objective about your answers, and might rate yourself as healthier than you are.
